Connie Health Information Exchange

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) for treatment, payment, and operations and recent state legislation requires that health information, including behavioral health information related to psychotherapy treatment, is securely shared with the statewide health information exchange.  Connie, the state's health information exchange, creates a standardized means for healthcare providers to securely share information electronically in order to provide efficient care. Information that can be shared confidentially between healthcare providers includes demographic information, details about your healthcare visits, prescription medicines, allergies, lab tests, lab results, and more. Connie helps healthcare providers work together to make informed decisions about care, especially in the case of an emergency and across different organizations. Patients may choose to opt out of the Connie information exchange by completing a form found on the state website. More information can be found at: www.conniect.org/for-patients/.
